TEMPORARY SPOUSAL SUPPORT VS. FINAL SPOUSAL SUPPORT


Temporary Spousal Support and Permanent Final Spousal Support differ fundamentally in nature and function. The manifest purposes of Temporary Spousal Support are to enable that spouse to live in the accustomed manner pending the disposition of the divorce and to provide that spouse with whatever is needed for that spouse to litigate properly his or her side of the controversy.


On the other hand the object of Permanent Final Spousal Support is to make an equitable apportionment between the parties. . . .' (Estate of Fawcett (1965) 232 Cal.App.2d 770, 783-784 [43 Cal.Rptr. 160]; In re Marriage of Czapar, supra, 232 Cal.App.3d at p. 1316 no factual findings required for temporary as opposed to permanent support award.
