DISCOVERY IN CALIFORNIA FAMILY LAW AND DIVORCE CASES


C.C.P. 2031.020 states that:


(a) A respondent may make a demand for production of documents at any time.


(b) A petitioner may make a demand for production of documents at any time that is 10 days after the service of the summons on, or appearance by, the party to whom the demand is directed, whichever occurs first.
